In this 1961 collection of Ginsberg’s poetry, Kaddish is published for the first time. One of 2500 copies printed at Villiers Publications in London with 10-line statement on the rear cover. His second most famous poem after Howl and regarded as one of his finest, Kaddish was Ginsberg’s attempt to mourn his mother, Naomi, but also reflects his sense of loss at his estrangement from his born religion.
