A fourth edition copy of this pocket sized guide aimed at early twentieth century tourists adventuring in Malaya. Complete with coloured map dated 1922 in the pocket at the rear. Illustrated with seven colour plates by Mrs. H.C. Barnard and numerous photographic monochrome plates by Kleingrothe and others. Established by the British government in 1895, the Federated Malay States consisted of four protected states in the Malay Peninsula: Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. The federation achieved independence in 1946 when the Malayan Union was formed and which would later become Malaysia.
